Welcome to the homepage of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Shanghai (SHETO) of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR).

The SHETO was formally set up in September, 2006. Its main functions include enhancing HKSAR Government's liaison and communication with provinces and municipalities under the purview of the SHETO (i.e. Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui and Shandong); facilitating exchange and co-operation in economic and trade and other areas between Hong Kong and the Mainland; promoting deeper understanding of Hong Kong to the people of the Mainland; and providing practical assistance to Hong Kong residents in distress in the Mainland.

This homepage provides information on the roles and duties of the SHETO, the latest on making investments, working and studying in Hong Kong, as well as information on living and doing business in the Mainland.

Wong Hoi Yee has served in multiple policy bureaus and departments of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, with her portfolio encompassing social welfare, news and media coordination, fiscal budget, energy, security, trade, and district administration. Her previous appointments include roles at the Labour and Welfare Bureau, the Chief Secretary for Administration's Office, the Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau, the Environment Bureau, the Security Bureau, the Trade and Industry Department, and the Home Affairs Department. Prior to her reassignment as Director of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Shanghai, she held the position of Principal Assistant Secretary for the Labour and Welfare Bureau. Ms. Wong holds a Master of Business Administration degree and a Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management.
