On the twentieth anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, we are glad to celebrate this meaningful occasion with friends in the eastern region on the Mainland.
Hong Kong is an international financial and trade centre, and a city renowned for its stamina and multi-faceted culture. Since our return to the Motherland, the principles of "one country, two systems", "Hong Kong people administering Hong Kong" and a high degree of autonomy have been successfully implemented in Hong Kong. With the staunch support of our country and hard work of the people in Hong Kong, there is good progress in our social and economic development, and over the years, we have also developed increasingly close relations with the Mainland in different arena.
To share the joy of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region with all, the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Shanghai will be bringing to the eastern region a series of programmes, including cultural performances and exhibitions, under the theme of "Together．Progress．Opportunity". We look forward to new opportunities associated with the rapid development of the Mainland, and joining hands in building a better Hong Kong together.
